Shame is the Antagonist in Your Self-Love Story

Every great love story has a villain determined to sabotage the transformative power of love. In your story, shame plays that role, seeking to "steal, kill, and destroy" (John 10:10) your destiny, your self-worth, and your ability to see yourself as God sees you. Shame operates through its three pillars—Rejection, Abandonment, and Humiliation—using “shaming events” to create false narratives about your worth and bullies you into living from a false identity.

Identity is everything!

God created us to live without shame (Genesis 2:25). Shame distorts how we see ourselves, just as it did in the Garden of Eden. After their encounter with the serpent, Adam and Eve saw themselves differently and hid from God, themselves, and each other. In the same way, shame causes us to shrink, hide, and settle for less than God’s best for us.

Christ came so we can reclaim our God given identity!

 

False Identities Are Not Ours To Keep

Women struggle with believing they were meant for more. They struggle with moving from a space of thinking they aren’t enough to knowing they are more than enough.

And knowing that grieves my heart and soul.

I desired to help women know EXACTLY how they can live in a space of harmony in a relationship with themselves, their families, their communities, their world, and do it in a way that is authentic and natural to who they were created to be.

Motivated by a desire to help women experience the possibilities of self-love, self-trust, self-acceptance, self-respect, and self-esteem UnAltered Truth was created. It’s what I wish I had while going through this transformation of “BECOMING”.

Do You Remember Your "Little Girl Dream"? 

 

Most women pause in silence when I ask this question. Much of the insecurity we feel stems from a lack of understanding of ourselves—a disconnect that often traces back to a “broken contract” with our “Little Girl Dream.” This dream, unique to each of us, represents the unspoken promise we made to our future selves—a vision of what we’d achieve or become when we grew up and gained the means to make it a reality.

 

As life unfolds, innocence is interrupted, and the weight of experiences, responsibilities, and expectations buries the terms of that contract. What once fueled our dreams and purpose becomes forgotten, yet the frustration, dissatisfaction, or sense of being stuck is often the contract’s way of calling us back—urging us to remember, acknowledge, and fulfill its promise.

 

Reconnecting with the clues in our “Little Girl Dream” opens the doorway to discovering direction and purpose, ultimately unlocking our greatness. I believe living in that greatness reflects the glory of God, and His glory is the antidote to shame.

When I walked through my own journey of transformation, I discovered that shame had been lurking in the shadows, keeping me from embracing my true self. I didn’t recognize it at first, but God revealed that shame was the force that kept me from fully accepting who I am in Him. As I worked through this transformation, I learned to love myself for real, and in doing so, I was able to embrace my true worth and purpose.

This framework is the foundation of UnAltered Truth, and through it, you’ll learn how to reconnect with the woman you were always meant to be—one who is no longer defined by her past mistakes or failures but is empowered to live from her truest, most authentic self.
